"I've missed you"
It all started with that text. I was sitting on my laptop, having just finished a decent Japanese horror movie, The Wish, when I checked my phone and saw the message flash. The number was unrecognizable to me and to be honest, I thought it was from my ex boyfriend. We had not talked in a while due to the fact that he was still hung on while I was pretty much over him. With that in mind I let out a sigh and texted the number back, automatically assuming it was him. The series of texts went as followed:
"You can visit me if you want… But no funny business like you did last time."
"I missed you so much"
"Yeah.. Well you should've thought about that before you left me for the last time, James"
"This isn't James"
At this point, I began to feel a little angry. I didn't like getting pranked and this time was no exception.
"…? Then who are you"
"I hope to see you tonight"
"Um, your joke isn't funny, so you should probably stop now. Is this Sam? I'm not in the mood to be fucked with."
"You don't know me but I know you and I plan to see you very soon"
"Whatever, stop texting me"
With that last statement I tossed my phone to the side and concentrated on whatever I was doing on my laptop at the time. I was in the process of looking for another scary movie to watch, but I suddenly felt a bit disturbed and not in the mood for one anymore.
The light outside grew darker and darker as I piddled away at my laptop, chatting with friends and watching funny shit on YouTube. I finally started to get sleepy around 2 AM, so I closed my laptop down and put my phone on my charger to go to sleep.
My bed lies in the middle of my bedroom, the head board up against the wall and my small dresser to my right. As I began to drift off, facing the dresser (where I placed my phone every single night) when the screen flashed, indicating I had received a message. I made an annoyed noise and slapped my hand over the rectangular object, unlocked the screen, and brought it close to my face.
It was the same number from earlier today.
"Sleep tight"
